Re: Welcome addiron!!!
Thanks guys...I set up a 28 gal tank...so I am looking at Angels...some cichlids and a pleco...and a red tail shark. Going for the Shark and Pleco this week. There is just so much to choose from...I like flashy looking fish.

Re: Welcome addiron!!!
Welcome addiron. Is the tank cycled? Here's a good article written by Graham explaining the cycling process http://www.nsaquariumclub.com/t2265-nitrification-a-must-read-for-all-members. I'd suggest a bristlenose pleco for that size tank as the common get quite large. For a planted tank what type of cichlids are you thinking about?

Welcome to the forum.
I'd recommend dwarf cichlids like:
Bolivian rams
German blue rams
Kribensis
Apistos.
ect
None of those species get too large and you wouldn't have to worry about them chewing up the plants. The kribs can get pretty territorial during breeding though so you might want to stick with all of one gender if you'd like angels too.

Yes we have been cycling the tank. I am looking at Bolivian rams, German blue rams and possibly Electric Blue's if I can find them.

Yay. Another Northern Nova Scotian. Far too few of us on here. No offense to the metro members. Just glad to see a little closer contact. I am trying to spread the word around Pictou County of this awesome community called TACONS!
