Forum Rules and Policies

-You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Aggressive messages as well as personal insults and critics, coarseness and vulgarities, and more generally any message contravening the French laws are prohibited.
-We do have a word filter which will catch a few foul terms, but it is not the solution nor should it be the solution. Using faintly disguised obscenities with creative or phonetic spelling basically shows disrespect.
-You agree that the administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. 
-As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database.

-Please remember that we are NOT responsible for any messages posted. We do NOT vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are NOT responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of the Tropical Aquarium Club of Nova Scotia.
-Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email or pm.
-We reserve the right to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame.

Freedom of Speech

Freedom of speech rights do NOT extend to this privately owned website. The rules of this website govern the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow the guidelines agreed to during registration, the result will render a disabling of your account.  
Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT a public board. We are all guests here. The Tropical Aquarium Club of Nova Scotia has the right to edit posts that violate our forum guidelines or remove members at any time. Nothing should ever be posted here that you would not say in front of a crowd of strangers. No personal opinions, or posts made specifically to cause a scene are allowed.  If you have a problem, please let us know via private message.  

 Spam
You also agree not to "spam" our forum or our members via either post(s) or private message(s). Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

Multiple accounts are also not allowed.  If you have been banned or told that you are in violation of our rules do not make another account.

Avatars
We would like to see ONLY fish or aquarium related avatars. This means you are free to post any avatar as long as it is fish or aquarium related.
 Please no cartoons or graphic designs. Anyone not following these wishes will be sent a friendly reminder and if not removed we will remove it for you.
Any avatar that is deemed not suited for TACONS will be removed!!

Personal Attacks
**Our first priority is to the members that come here because of the friendly atmosphere we provide. There is a zero-tolerance policy here against personal attacks. We will not tolerate anyone insulting another individual's opinion, name calling/bullying.  We will BAN offenders. This applies to private messages or emails via TACONS.

Please don't hesitate to contact an admin if you have issues with another member.

Lurkers
**As many of you know, in addition to the discussions we have for our own benefit, we also present a showcase to the lurkers and fence-sitters. Lurking is something an open, honest community doesn't need if said lurking is for the wrong reasons. Information & pictures on the forum are property of TACONS.

We are here voluntarily, including the moderators and the forum admins.  This is a non profit site.
Please show your appreciation for the venue it provides.  The administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is however impossible to review every message.  

Administrators will ban anyone for violations of our forum/club with no warning in extreme cases

Thought I should bump this. Seeing a lot old and new members on this week.  Please read the rules. They have been modified to reflect part of TACONS new team's goals for our forum & club.
