Post by keysto Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:27 am

I have been talking to my other half about this program, and Finally was able to get the glass replaced in my 80gal, which means again I have room to house fish, large or small. I have no car at the time being, however i can find rides to rescues, have means of transporting fish ie; buckets, bags etc.., and can basically house anything, as I've officially solved all compatibility issues, and have an 80gal empty and cycling... Let me know if I can be of any assistance :)

Hey guys, just picked up an upside down catfish from a woman in dartmouth. I plan on keeping him as we were actually looking to get one. He seems a little off though so i don't know how he's going to do. He was in a tank without a filter or heater for a while and if we didn't get him today she was going to go out and get a heater/ filter. She really appreciated that we here at tacons actually had this program going. Said it was too good to be true. Glad to see that there are a few more rescues scheduled also. Good way to show that we actually care about people and fish. Way to go guys,

Matthew

I volunteer to take the same species as my own: Neon tetras, harlequin rasboras, rummy nose tetras, various catfish, zebra loaches, black phantom tetras.

Here is a link to someone who is trying to give away her fish. I found it on Kijiji last night:

Post by big wheel Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:04 pm

hey guys- i take fish all the time from folks who no longer need/want them, or can care for them. i would be more than willing to help with this... i have a ton of tanks here ast the store, as well as throughout the city that could be used for this. I dont mind helping out with this at all... like i said, i do it now all the time anyway. my phone rings CONSTANTLY with people asking me if i'll take their stuff. i honestly dont have time to go anywhere to pick anything up. but, i do have bags and stuff (obviously). just let let me know whats happening, and i can make room.

Okay this rescue is complete, It was a pretty large rescue, I will keep these for a another day or so and then start looking for homes for these, There are Black Mozambique Fish and a Convicts, In total about 30 large fish, the Mozambique's are I believe 3 breeding colony's and the convicts are young, about 2 inches long.

Please let me know if your interested in some and when you can pick up, sorry I not delivering these fish, Donations for rescued fish will be accepted with all proceeds to the ops of the club!!
